Lucas Lin is a Singapore-based street photographer drawn to the quiet poetry of everyday life. Focusing on the interplay of light and shadow, his black-and-white images reveal fleeting moments shaped by human presence, contrast, reflection, and geometry. Through his lens, light parts from darkness—framing scenes that might otherwise go unnoticed.
While most of his work is rooted in Singapore’s streets, Lucas also captures life beyond the city—exploring rhythms and environments in other parts of the world with the same observant eye.
His journey in photography began in 2017 with a humble M43 Olympus camera, sparking a deep love for visual storytelling. Since then, he has experimented with various Fujifilm systems and now primarily shoots with Leica M and SL cameras. Drawn to the tactile precision of both Japanese and German engineering, he embraces the slower, intentional process of manual photography—cultivating presence, patience, and a deeper connection with the streets.
Beyond photography, Lucas is a full-time tech engineer with over a decade of experience in software engineering and technical consulting. His dual paths—of code and composition—reflect a pursuit of clarity, craft, and quiet attention to detail.
